Today was spent exploring the OC...you know the county the show with Mischa Barton was based on as well as a series of The Real Housewives of Orange County....my roommate is originally from Texas but actually grew up in the OC so I had some insight on cute towns and areas to check out. I started off by hitting up the Rainbow Factory store in San Clemente. You all know the sandals I am talking about that usually run about $50 and are super comfy and a staple on every college campus (at least they were at UGA) so this store was AMAZING! Everyone knows I am obsessed with flip flops but rarely spend more than $5 on them...well I couldn't resist 2 new pairs considering they were only $30 each! I got an awesome pair made from hemp and also a tan pair...even picked up a pair for my friends' daughter :) I wish I never knew about this store...good thing it is about 30 minutes or so away otherwise my credit card would be in some serious trouble. I then hopped on the Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH) for a scenic ride up the coast. I have said it again and again..but truly...the Cali coast and Pacific Ocean is like nothing we have down in the South or Gulf of Mexico...it is breathtaking and I truly think I will never get sick of looking at it. I hit up the town of Dana Point, then on to Laguna Beach (home of LC and Kristin Cavallari who were made famous on the MTV show...Laguna Beach). All I have to say is those kids were crazy lucky to grow up in that community...it was beautiful and some of the biggest houses I have ever seen in my life. Then on to Newport Beach and a little island called Balboa Island (it looked like Truman show) and was my favorite stop of the day! Lastly I ended in Huntington Beach. I stopped there bc I had been driving a good bit and had no desire to get any closer to LA...haha.
Tomorrow will be a day spent around my neck of the woods getting some much needed errands, laundry etc. done. And of course also preparing for Thanksgiving!
On a side note...I signed up with a friend to do a 5k Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning in Balboa Park. Excited!!!
