What a fun week! We had such great warm, sunny days this week...you might be asking what else is new...but really...it has been warmer than normal. Even though true seasons don'e exist the weather does get cooler in the Winter months...I think starting today temps are getting back to normal and we won't see the 70's for a little while. By normal...I mean mid 60's. So of course I took advantage of this week and did the usual of dog park and dog beach with Roxie most mornings. On Wednesday I headed to the House of Blues with my friend Alicia to check out her friends' band. I have never been to a HOB before and the one in SD is such an awesome venue. Relatively small with not a bad seat in the house. We got free tickets since we "knew the band" so that is always nice. And as most nights with Alicia go...we laughed our asses off, drank a lot, and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. I was excited because I don't go out downtown much and was able to check out some new places I had not been before...The Yard House (yummy food and ridiculously large beers), The Field (amazing Irish bar), and not surprisingly...some place I have been to a couple of times but just can't recall the name of. Then back to Alicia's for some more drinks and randomly...a game of Uno. Yeah...we are odd sometimes....ok...
most of the time! Nothing like taking a taxi home at 8am to make you feel like
such a winner. Haha That day was a struggle and when it was time to head to work around 2pm...I was still hungover and cursing the night before!
Saturday was another trip back to HOB. This time it was to see Amos Lee (seriously...his voice is amazing) with Jake and our friends Maria and Brendan. Amos Lee has a song called "Southern Girl" that I have loved for years but I was excited to discover more of his music and just experience an amazing live show with great friends! Checked out a restaurant I have never been to before called Starlight. It was delish!
Sunday I headed to the Torrey Pines golf course for The Farmer's Insurance tournament. It was cool to be out on one of the most amazing and legendary courses and of course with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean this place was stunning! I have decided I should attend more golf tournaments in the future...golfers are cute and golf fans are even cuter :)
Next weekend it looks like I might be heading to Big Bear, CA (ski town a few hours from here) with Alicia. It will be nice to experience another CA town and continue exploring my new State. Is it really almost February? Crazy!!
