Spring Break Always Goes By Too Fast

How is it possibly already Thursday?!? Maybe it was the fact I had 2 of my favorites in town and that we went non stop the entire time...rarely getting more than 5 hours of sleep a night! haha What an epic, epic trip/visit we had. There is no possible way I could even come close to summarizing all we did but I can hit a few highlights. They landed late Friday night or early Saturday morning (however you want to look at it). We came back to the apartment, opened up some wine and munchies and began to catch up and chat...stay up til after 3am (or 6am considering they were still on ATL time). The next day we ventured out in my local neighborhood of Pacific Beach. We shopped, walked around, laughed, drank some beer(ok..drank a lot of beer), checked out the pier and boardwalk, ate some AMAZING fish and lobster tacos, laughed, chatted and just had a blast! We then headed out that night to Jake's neighborhood of downtown. Again...more drinking ensued as we hit up Wet Willies for some yummy drinks, then off to one of my favorite Irish bars The Field where we planted ourselves for most of the night. Capped off by some great slices of pizza and another late night ensued. I have never laughed so much in my life! However, a downside to the night was that Tracy lost her wallet and never found it. Bummer.

Sunday was spent on Coronado. A chill day of enjoying the gorgeous beach and just walking around enjoying the sights. Hitting up the Coronado Brewery of course and then a night out in Pacific Beach. 2 bars and a lot of laughs later...another late night/early morning.

Monday was GORGEOUS. Best weather of their visit with blue skies and warm temperatures. We headed to La Jolla for the day to see some seals, amazing ocean views, great food, and well...of course some beers. We also visited Cabrillo National Park and then dinner downtown.

Tuesday was unfortunately Maria's last day as she left around lunchtime :( We did lunch and a little shopping before we sent her off on her way. So sad to see her go. Tracy and I headed to a few more local breweries and had a chill night of cooking and watching a movie.

Wednesday was Tracy's last day but luckily she wasn't leaving until 10:30pm so we had the entire day to hang out! We took Roxie to Fiesta Island to run around and get some exercise, drank some mimosas and relaxed for a few hours, visited Kate Sessions Park and Mt. Soledad and then grabbed Jake for one last dinner before Tracy left. A quick drive through Balboa and then Trace was off to the airport. Luckily, she had no issues making it home despite not having her license.

So I was in bed early last night and slept nearly 12 hours in an attempt to try and recover from all the lack of sleep. My voice is hoarse which is always a sign of me burning the candle at both ends. But hey...when you have visitors in town this is what you do, right? I am so appreciative and thankful I have such wonderful friends in my life who would take the time and spend the money to come visit me. They are simply the best! Makes me a little homesick today as the apartment is quiet and my friends are back in the ATL. However, now the countdown for my mom's visit can begin :) Always something to be excited for and look forward to...I love it!

A few quotes from Maria and Tracy's visit. Truly shows how silly and ridiculous us 3 are when we get together :)
