Is It Spring Break Yet?

Student quote of the week: "Ms. Ferguson--are you a clubber?" ( a 6th grade student asking me if I "party" --WOW)

Officially 3 work days til I am on Spring Break! We luckily have Friday off since it was a snow day we never used...a day to wash clothes, pack (over pack), grocery shop, drop the dog at the dogsitter (seriously...it's like being a single mom! ha), and prepare for the early 6am departure on Saturday. If all goes according to plan...we should be beach side with a cold beer in our hands (or beverage of choice) by 1pm Saturday. I am scared to even check the weather for fear of jinxing it or having anything but 6 glorious sunny days.

I have not been to Gulf Shores since I was a kid...while it doesn't have the notoriety of Destin, or the notorious nickname Panama City has (Redneck Riviera) it will undoubtedly have white sand, clear water, and a better atmosphere than suburban Atlanta. I have yet to meet a beach that I don't like!

Things I have learned on the Cabbage Soup Diet---
1) diets suck
2) diets should be very short term
3) eating (or NOT eating should I say) on a diet is typically extremely boring
4) diets can be socially isolating
5) I enjoy my red and white wine, margaritas, and beer when I get home from work
6) While diets give temporary results, it's way more fun to eat and be fat
7) I will most likely not diet again for a long, long time

Things I Will Do On Spring Break
1)Drink---daily
2)Still get up before 8am (so sad I know...but I can't help it)
3)Read waaaay too many gossip, fashion, and irrelevant magazines
4) Spend too much money
5) Not wear makeup
6) People watch
7) NOT think about or talk about work
8) Enjoy the sun and some good laughs with my girls

Here's to a wonderful Spring Break...whether you still get to take one or not! And after Spring Break...the countdown for Summer begins!

Cheers!
