The Final Countdown

I have 13 days left of school and then I am officially D-O-N-E teaching except for going back 2 days for Post Planning which just includes packing up my room and all that fun stuff. I got my official paperwork from the County today stating my resignation and a bunch of other paperwork. It was bittersweet...but really more exciting than anything. I will be so sad to leave my friends and first job...but something tells me I will find myself back there in a few years. Who knows really. In the mean time...I am excited that I have gotten a call from a cool organization in San Diego about a possible job.http://www.saysandiego.org/ I am looking forward to speaking with them further and hopefully setting up an interview for when I visit in June. While I will be taking quite the pay cut I wouldn't mind at all. Moving to Cali is not about money or career, but more about new experiences and personal growth. Wish me luck, as rent and cost of living in Cali is NOT cheap...so I gotta have some kind of income to help sustain that SoCal life :)

I made it back from my field trip to Savannah with a bunch of 8th graders in tow. I had a good time touring around, learning a little history, checking out Tybee Island, and even attempting to roller skate. I could NEVER roller skate as a child...and well...not much has changed as an adult. I wish I had a video camera of me as it was quite amusing I am sure. Being around 8th graders for 3 days straight had me thinking about my own Middle School experience. I am so fortunate to still be friends with people I knew back then. All that we went through, all the drama, all the growth, good times and bad...it's cool to think some of the kids on the field trip might be friends all their lives. We had amazing weather and the kids behaved so extremely well. I never thought I would be the teacher taping kids in rooms to ensure they don't sneak out...considering I was that kid in 8th grade! ha

Zac Brown was awesome and it was so great to spend time with my girls and help my cousin celebrate her college graduation. I must have screamed 20 times to anyone who would listen , "She just graduated!!!!!" I am so excited for the new beginnings in her life and so excited to visit her in Savannah in June.

So as Zac Brown would say "Life is good today, life is good today" I have nothing to complain, whine, or bitch about. With so much going on in the world, in other's lives etc. I remind myself more often now than ever...I have it good...even on my bad days....I am so thankful. Now if I could just find a boyfriend....hell...I would settle for a date at this point! :)
