Some Breweries, Some Appetizers, and Oh Yeah..Some Superbowl!

Another wonderful San Diego weekend for the books! Saturday I had the opportunity to head out and tour some of the local breweries. My friend David is a doctor here in SD and about 20 of his coworkers and he organized a chartered bus to take us out and about to Ale Smith Brewery http://alesmith.com/ , then we checked out Lost Abbey Brewery http://www.lostabbey.com/, and finally went to Stone Brewing Co. http://www.stonebrew.com/home.asp. For $20 we were driven around and had all you can drink at the 2nd brewery. Other places we got $1 tasters which was a fantastic way to sample an array of brews. We even picked up a 30th birthday party crew and carted them to one of the breweries with us...what can we say...we are friendly drinkers :) I have to say the first 2 breweries were more rustic, warehouse type atmospheres...the last one...Stone was GORGEOUS and I will def. be taking visitors back there for sure. The grounds were expansive and the places was packed with a 2 hour wait for food! Must be worth it!

Sunday was of course devoted to the Super Bowl! Not that I care much about NFL teams or anything but college football....I of course went to be social, watch the commercials, and take some time to cook some yummy appetizers! Pigs in Blankets and Jimmy Dean sausage balls were my "go to" apps for this year. Quick, easy, and most people usually like them. Only in SD would the weather be in the upper 70's for the super bowl. So funny!! It was nice to watch it at my friend Alex and Jason's place bc they live nearby in Pacific Beach and they have an awesome outdoor patio that we were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather on while still having a clear view of the TV. Perfection!

This upcoming week is a busy one! An interview on Tuesday morning, Jake's birthday is also Tuesday, and bowling starts Tuesday night! Thursday is my appointment to donate blood for the 2nd time, and meeting one of my very best friends from early childhood for Happy Hour. Meghan lived across the street from me as a child and we were always at one another's house playing, building forts etc. She moved to California and we lost touch. Well...thanks to Facebook we have reconnected and she works about 5 minutes from where I work! What are the odds right? I am excited to meet up and catch up as adults! I know it will be so fun and hopefully a newfound, "old" friend in San Diego.

So a busy, but fun week ahead!!
