Going to the Desert!

So excited to be heading out to Indio, CA around lunch time on Friday for 3 days of camping and country music! Roxie is all set with her dog sitter and I am working on getting my wardrobe and necessities for 3 days of drinking, hot, hot weather, lots of fun, and most likely...no showering. Yikes! I am excited for my first music festival experience (well...overnight experience).

Seems like this week is a busy one elsewhere...my brother graduated today from Georgia State with his Master's degree in Social Work. We are becoming quite the scholars in our family...my oldest brother has his Master's from UGA, my sister has her Specialist Degree from West Georgia, I have my Master's from North Georgia and now my other brother! Not to mention my Mom will complete her Doctorate from Georgia State in the next year or so....apparently we love school :) It is my friend Syd's 28th birthday today! Yikes...are we really all getting that close to 30?!?!? Friday my bestie graduates with her Master's in Counseling from North Georgia (so exciting!!) and it is my other bestie's "29th" (yeah right) Birthday! Tracy has literally been 29 every year for the past 5 years that we have been friends. Hilarious.

Mom heads out in 8 days and I can't be more excited! I also found out I got the Summer job I applied for last week so that is exciting! The weather this week has been even more gorgeous than usual but man I gotta work on this silly farmer's tan I have going on. Hoping to accomplish that this weekend.

Poor Roxie is still injured with a cut pad that is taking what seems like forever to heal and both of us are so bored because until it is better...no dog park, running, playing etc. She and I both have cabin fever and I feel so bad because she is just pitiful. Luckily she doesn't seem in pain and we have some antibiotics from the vet to help speed up the healing process. I guess when you are as rough and ready as she is...an injury is bound to happen.

Updates from the desert when I return on Monday. Cheers!
