Week one of my new Summer job is wrapping up. It has been a wonderful experience with great kids, great staff and volunteers. We meet everyday about 20 minutes North of my house at a place called Fletcher Cove, in Solana Beach. It is a great little beach that is nice and tucked away in a cool surf town. On Monday we spent the day boogie boarding, throwing the frisbee, and playing cornhole. Tuesday we headed down to Balboa Park and visited the Fleet Science Center. The kids had a blast checking out all of the experiments and exhibits. Wednesday we were off to The Wave waterpark where the kids enjoyed water slides and the lazy river. Thursday was Nickel City where the kids got to play all kinds of arcade games and I was pretty stoked to see old school Pac Man and it was FREE. haha I tried to teach the kids the beauty of this game but they seemed more interested in the newer, flashier games.....go figure :) Today we head back to Fletcher Cove for another day at the beach and end the week with a pizza party!
A great weekend on tap for sure! Tonight Jake and I head to the Padres game to cheer on the Braves who are in town. Once again my Stepdad's sweet family hooked me up with their season tickets so we will be sitting in style on the 1st base field level side. Excited to meet up for dinner and drinks with some fellow UGA alumni who we met a while back when volunteering at the zoo. Will be nice to visit with them again! My friend Wilson is also in town for the Bachelor party and they are headed to the game as well.
Saturday is the Ocean Beach Street Festival...live music and just enjoying the outdoors and beach all day.
Sunday Maria and I are heading out on a boat for some live music and drinks.
10 days until I head to NC!!
