Who knew resigning from a job you LOVE would be so hard yet...so easy. I had been putting off my resignation letter for no reason other than the fact I was stuck on what exactly to write. I imagine it's rather easy to quit or resign from a job you hate, dread going to, or resembles some scene from Groundhog's Day or Office Space. But as trite as it sounds...I not only like my job, I love it. It is the only teaching job I have had. I have had the same boss for 3 years and worked as a sub for a year prior to that. I am comfortable with my colleagues, routine, responsibilities, and duties of my job. I am sure in this economy people are thinking I am insane to quit an almost recession proof job. I have no doubt if I had not resigned, my job would be there safe and secure waiting for my return next year. Maybe some people are comfortable with routine...I admit as well...there is something very easy about security. I think I am just going in a different order than most. I have lived a very responsible life thus far in my 26 years. Some would call me "The oldest 26 year old I know" (ahem..Tracy) and maybe that is true. I have a certain wiring that won't ever change a lot of that. But I am going to do the best I can in the next few years to be the care free, careless (well...as much as I can be...) single 20 something that I feel I have the right to be and deserve to be.
So here is my forewarning for the future situations, decisions, and actions I take...they might not always make sense or perhaps will be a little out of character but I think I have earned the right to be a little reckless. To quote a good friend who once (and many times has said) "DON'T JUDGE"
Future Occupations I am/have considered:
- Personal Assistant..I am organized and I do love some office supplies!
- Waitress/Bartender...although I have never been one and 26 seems a little old to start
-Para Pro...all the glory of working with students with way less responsibility
-Grocery Bagger...did this at 17 and it worked out well..stress FREE for sure
-Dog Walker...but I won't pick up their poop
-Private Investigator...those of you who know me well..this is so NOT shocking
-Tutor...if a lady could charge my mom $45 back when I was in 8th grade...I can make serious $$ now
-Nanny... I have a master's degree..who wouldn't want me watching their kids?!?
This list is ongoing and open to suggestions....
