I can still remember chanting this as a kid with my dad....so cute! That being said...I have an airplane ticket to Jacksonville for the GA/FLA weekend!! I am beyond excited to see my dear friend Lauren and my "niece" Eliana. It will also be a fun weekend of visiting with my college roommate Ginny, her husband and two kiddos Hayden and Piper. They live in Savannah and will head down while I am close by. Also trying to coordinate for my cousin to drive down from Savannah as well. So a nice little reunion full of great friends, kids, and family. I found a great deal on the flight and wanted to spend some time with Eliana...as she will turn 2 a few weeks after my visit on November 13th. It will be nice to be back in the South for a bit and in the atmosphere of SEC football.
This was an unplanned trip back to the area and I won't be going home for Thanksgiving...soo...this will have to give me my dose of the South until I can truly make it back home for the holidays. I already booked my ticket for Christmas and will be home December 19th-27th. I was hoping to spend New Years in ATL but with the pup being boarded back in SD I can't stay gone much longer than a week...she is my spoiled little baby after all :) But a nice week long visit will do and I wanted to be in town before Christmas to help my mom shop, bake, and do all of our normal traditions that we enjoy.
Speaking of the fam...they head out in about 3 weeks or so. So, so, so thrilled to see them and spend some time showing them around, enjoying some great food, sites, drinks, laughs, and just quality time. It is so hard being away from my Gran and I am so lucky she is willing and able to come out here...I imagine she will be back again for another visit! She is awesome!!
So last night my roommate, neighbor, and I enjoyed sitting outside in our courtyard drinking wine and chatting...Roxie was just chillin with us and we talked with other neighbors as they came and went. A nice calm night...my speed for sure. Set the alarm early this morning to make sure I was up to catch the UGA game. Luckily, my roomie and I can enjoy it from the couch while enjoying some mimosas...I even grabbed Chik Fil A for breakfast. After some college football it will be off to meet some friends for the Ocean Beach Music Festival http://obmusicfest.org/ and then tomorrow is hiking and taking some pictures at Torrey Pines http://www.torreypine.org/.
I always like things to look forward to...so my family's visit and my trip to Fla has definitely got me excited!!
Work is getting better and more comfortable...I am loving all the time I get to spend outside. I am always the one volunteering to be on the blacktop with the kids....I do love my sun! Roxie and I also discovered a new place this week. We walked to Crown Point Coffee http://www.crownpointcoffee.com/ it was probably a little less than 3 miles round trip from my house..perfect for us! I got coffee while Roxie hung out on the patio and I was able to read the paper..she has some learning to do as she was a little anxious and restless but hopefully the more we go the calmer she will get. Love, love, love how much she and I are out and about walking and exploring...one of the "goals" and ideas I had in mind when moving here!
