Truly....why can't I be a lawyer...married to a pilot and live on Coronado ? :) A girl can dream right? Well...I guess the dream of me being a lawyer is pretty much a no go...but married to a pilot...still has potential! haha
It was another great weekend of relaxing, reading, being outside, and hanging with some great kids. I have to say...these kids (Lindsey and Kyle) are some of the most well behaved, mature, and polite kids I have ever met. They have every reason to be snobby, entitled, over indulged SoCal kids as they are growing up on one of the wealthiest islands in the country...however, they have amazing parents who have instilled great values in them. It is a joy to watch them and talk to them. Lindsey was in the process of sewing her own homecoming dress one night and building her homecoming float with her classmates...ahh..to be in high school again. Kyle had a friend over and it was amazing to see how many video games, tv, and pool activities two 10 year olds can do in the span of 24 hours. I also took Kyle to his soccer game...such a cool park on the water...and I even got to take Roxie! We of course made a few trips to Dog Beach and Roxie is still worn out today. Having kids...even when not yours and when well behaved...is exhausting. You quickly realize it is not about you at all...I found I looked forward to night when it was quiet in the house and I could enjoy a glass of wine and a tv show that wasn't on Nickelodeon.
Being the baby of the family I was kinda catered to and well....let's be honest...I like things to go my way and be about me...hehe...my mom has always said...in a nice way...she predicts I won't have kids. Not because I won't get married but because well...she just never pictured me with them. I have to say...I can't totally disagree. The older I get...the more I realize how much I like my alone time, my "me" time, and my own schedule. I like kids...but I also like to hand them right back to their mom and dad. Who knows...there is no way of predicting. As for now...I will continue to work with kids, teach kids, and enjoy the heck out of my friends' kiddos.
Speaking of...literally counting the minutes until I see Hayden (2.5), Piper (almost 10 months), and Eliana (almost 2). I leave late Thursday night and arrive Friday morning in Jax. The weather is supposed to be amazing and we have some fun plans for a few Halloween inspired activities...I just might start packing now to make me feel like it is getting here even sooner.
I do have a busy, busy week so maybe that will help it go by quickly! A job interview tomorrow, getting Roxie a place to be boarded, child abuse training for work, and a softball game...and of course a few errands etc. to prepare for the trip. So fun to be traveling again after 3 months of settling in San Diego...
