9 Days to Relax....

I seriously can't believe it is Thanksgiving Break!!!! Time is flying by so fast....I have been in California for almost 4 months now...insane to think about. We had a great week at work and it is truly getter better and better. The kids are finally used to us and we are having a great time! It really has reminded me how much I like working with younger kids at times...I have some cute as can be Kinders that just melt my heart.

So this weekend in San Diego is rainy, rainy. Rain showers all day today and tomorrow. Normally that would annoy me on a weekend but knowing I still have many more days to enjoy...the rain is kinda welcomed. Last night I tried another Mexican place with Jake and our friend David. It was in the Northpark n'hood ( so random I have hung out there like 3 weekends in a row!) It was delicious and I had amazing enchiladas with a green mole sauce. YUM.

Today I will be checking out some fabulous indoor activities...first up is one of the many museums in side Balboa Park. It is the Museum of Photographic Arts http://www.mopa.org/ Seeing how it is only $6 to get in and I am mildly obsessed with photography....I am super excited to check this place out today! After that is another stop in Balboa to the IMAX theatre to watch Kelly Slater's (pro surfer) documentary called The Ultimate Wave in 3D http://www.ultimatewavetahiti.com/. Living in SoCal surfers are a dime a dozen and it is hard to not be amazed by them and watch them out in the ocean as they anticipate waves....not to mention Kelly Slater is quite attractive so I think the movie has a few interesting aspects.

Sunday is a roommate day of going to the Birch Aquarium http://www.aquarium.ucsd.edu/ San Diego's local aquarium...again another great rainy day activity...followed by a roommate dinner of Lauren's homemade pumpkin soup...sounds delicious. She and I are obsessed with pumpkin anything...currently we have pumpkin bread and pumpkin beer in our apartment.

So definitely making the most of a rainy weekend...getting out and about to explore the plethora of activities SD has to offer...besides bars and beaches :) Monday and Tuesday I will be in Palm Springs. Should be a great mini vacay!

Also, randomly an old friend I haven't seen in almost a decade will be out here for Thanksgiving Tuesday-Saturday with her fam...Jake and I have plans to meet up with her. So cool to catch up with long lost friends and especially in my new city!
