Home for the Holidays

Tis the season.....so Lauren and I went and got a little Christmas tree for the apartment. Funny how when I owned my townhome it looked like a 45 year old lady lived there bc I loved decorating for the holidays. Needless to say...the Christmas decorations did not make the cross country move. My mom did send me a Jim Shore Beach Santa...she is so thoughtful and I love his pieces. We went to a tree place right in Pacific Beach...kinda ironic to be picking out a tree steps away from the ocean and with palm trees in the background. Our tree was even small enough that we threw it in the back seat/trunk of my SUV! Came home and turned on some Christmas music and now Oliver Avenue is looking quite festive! Two weeks until I leave for Atlanta...not looking forward to the cold weather but looking forward to great family and friend time.

This weekend was another busy one. Headed out with my new friend Alicia to check out December Nights in Balboa Park. Unfortunately, we weren't the only people with this idea and after sitting in traffic, trying to find parking, and driving around for nearly 2 hours...we gave up and headed to a bar instead...well a few bars. We had such a fun night and of course I paid heavily for it on Sunday morning. We cured our hangover with a lovely brunch and mimosas of course...I had mac and cheese egg scramble....it was amazing! Of course...not the healthiest start to the day.

After that I met up with my roommate and some friends for the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular...it was a great show and def. got me in the spirit! I do love the holidays and can't wait to do some baking, cooking, and even a little dreaded shopping I guess.

Another stellar weekend for the books in San Diego!
