The Happiest I Have Ever Been...

I drove home from work on Friday and was literally giddy. It was sunny, it is no longer dark when I leave thanks to the time change and I got off 30 minutes early...what's not to be giddy about right? I started thinking to myself how happy I am lately. I feel like the soundtrack to my life right now is a mix of a Zac Brown, Kenny Chesney, and Bob Marley song...to summarize...no worries, relaxing, chilling, enjoying the sand and sun. Bob Marley's " Three Little Birds" has been in my head each and every morning when I wake up...I love it! Maybe the older you get the more you appreciate the little things and little events in life...or maybe San Diego is just that good for my soul. Who knows but I know that life is on the up and up these days and it has nothing to do with anyone else, or a relationship, or even a job really...it sounds selfish but it has everything to do with me. I have never been in a better please emotionally and mentally.

All that being said...what a wonderful week I had! An old friend from high school was in town visiting Jake. "Stein" as we always called him was such a good guy in h.s. but I haven't seen him much since then. We weren't exactly tight but it is still nice having a familiar face visit none the less. He brought his little brother who is 19 and a freshmen at Arizona State (he was on Spring Break). It was fun going out with them and just doing the usual. Monday was Jake's softball game followed by a great night at an Irish bar in Ocean Beach...and of course introducing Stein and his brother to a California burrito around 2am! haha Tuesday was bowling and then out downtown for a bit. Wednesday I went with the Stein Brothers to the zoo and it was a gorgeous day...plus we discovered they sell beer at the zoo....GENIUS! Thursday was St. Patrick's Day celebration with friends here in Pacific Beach and Friday was a chill night of dinner and a few beers downtown after we said goodbye to Stein. Always so sad to see visitors leave...I love having a reason to show people around and always hope they will love this place as much as I do. I am sure I annoyed the hell out of Stein with my constant questions and chatting :)

A cloudy weekend here in SD. I have plans to read, get my nails done, a little shopping, some quality time with the pup and hitting the PB bars with Alicia later tonight. I am thinking Sunday will be a lazy, rainy day on the couch...just as good as a cloudless, sunny day sometimes. I tend to relish in a rainy Sunday here as they are pretty rare.

2 weeks until my girls get here!!!!!!!!!!!
