Tsunami Warning

Not too much to write home about...let's see. A busy, yet laid back weekend all at the same time. Friday I awoke to missed calls, missed text messages, voicemails, and Facebook posts all checking on the "Tsunami Warning" It was interesting I do have to say. I found myself groggily watching the local news to make sure there was nothing I needed to be alarmed about. It was heartbreaking to see the images from Japan and thank goodness we had no visible effects here in San Diego. The morning was a little foggier than normal and we were advised to not go in water...but other than that...just another day in paradise. I did have to speak to my mom twice that day to ensure her that Roxie and I were in fact NOT floating down my street on our mattress. God love her for being so loving and concerned.

Friday was a chill night of having a friend over to grab some frozen yogurt and rent a movie. 127 Hours...I had been wanting to see it after all the hype, the infamous amputation scene and of course James Franco isn't hard on the eyes either. It was a good movie worth watching and well done...can't say it makes me want to go hiking any time soon though! Saturday was spent helping a friend apartment hunt, checking out the local St. Patty's Day festival, and hitting a few PB bars for some beers. Sunday I was busy finishing a great book recommended and lent to me by a friend. I have a new favorite author! Jen Lancaster and so far I have read Pretty in Plaid and LOVED it! She has a great sense of humor, wit, and sarcasm...right up my alley. I have already reserved a few more of her books at the library. I know, I know...nerd alert. But I love when I get back into reading! Took Rox to the dog park and then headed out with my friend Maria to a new wine bar for a Virginia Tech alumni event. I obviously didn't go there but went to keep her company...hey...if there is wine involved...I am good to go! Jake ended up joining us and we went for a late night Vietnamese dinner and I had Pho for the very first time! It was delish.

This week is a busy one with something going on each and every night. Still counting the days until Tracy and Maria get here...18 days!!
