Some exciting news for my good friend and college roommate Ginny and her husband Cory...they had their 3rd precious baby girl!! Sylvia Mabel was born on Thursday, June 2nd. She is simply adorable and has a head full of dark brown hair! Ginny already has 2 of the cutest and sweetest girls I have met so I have no doubt Sylvia will fit right in! So excited to head down to Savannah when I am home in July and get to visit for a day! She will be about 5 weeks then...so still so precious and tiny :)
This weekend was picture perfect in San Diego. I mean...most days and weekends are...but really...this one was gorgeous! Friday after work I headed to meet some friends at Il Padrino. A local pizza place that my friend Maria's boyfriend owns. Had some drinks and some pizza and then headed out in PB for the rest of the night! I found a new found obsession in the game of Shuffleboard. Not the the kind played on cruise ships with the long sticks and "pucks" but a table top version popular at bars. Yes...we definitely closed down the bar playing game after game. So much fun!
Saturday was cloudless, about 70, and had a slight breeze...I spent several hours sitting out on the beach relaxing, getting some sun, and reading. It was perfection!
Sunday Alicia and I got up bright and early and biked over to meet my roommate at then end of her half marathon! She ran 13 miles on another gorgeous SoCal day and we were there to support her and cheer her on! Her parents were also sweet enough to come out from Texas to support her. We all headed to brunch outside to enjoy the weather, her accomplishment, and of course some mimosas! Later Sunday night we all headed to Tim McGraw. A great country concert and nothing beats live music and the outdoors!
Only 6 more days of work left before the school year wraps up! This year has flown by and I am so glad I have ended up really liking my job, enjoying the kids and parents, and really feeling proud of the relationships and experience in general.
I have also officially decided to stay in San Diego until January 2012. I just renewed my lease at my apartment for 6 months! Feels great to not be homeless soon but also not lock into an entire year. Gotta keep my options open as you never know the next adventure around the corner!
