Back to San Diego Livin'

Since returning from my trip I have been taking it easy. I truly believe there is a major difference between "Trip" and "Vacation". A vacation implies relaxing, a beach (well for me), drinks, books, you know...typical R and R activities. A trip on the other hand involves maps, driving, itineraries, plans, excursions, hiking etc. Well Washington and Oregon was definitely a trip! Not that it's bad that it was...just it takes a day or two of resting after returning from a trip. So I napped, spent one lazy day in bed reading the entire day (finished The Help and it was one of the best books I have read in a loooooooooooooooooooooong time), had playdates with Roxie's bff Carmelle, went to the farmer's market with my friend Alicia and cooked some yummy meals at home...another thing I get sick of when traveling is eating every single meal out :( So it was nice to go to the grocery store, get some good food, and cook some things I haven't in a while. Made some delicious stuffed green peppers and always wonder why I don't make those more often?!?

I also started a new book called 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult. Sometimes her books get a little deep and dark for me but I am in a mood to read a lot right now and it is nice to take a break from my normal "chic lit" light beach reads and read something with a little more depth and thought behind it. So far I am loving it.

Volunteering at the hospital tonight and then a busy weekend of baseball! I have my stepdad's family's season tickets for Friday's games against the Marlins. Jake and I will head down there as this is the last home series for the Padres before he moves. Saturday I will head with a group of friends to the game and then there is a free Dierks Bentley (country singer) concert after the game and you get to go for free as long as you had a ticket to the baseball game! Sounds like an awesome weekend to me! I will be relaxing on Sunday and re-cooperating I am sure.

Summer is slowly winding down. I work my last week of Summer Camp next week and then start back at my After School job the following Wednesday. It has flown by fast as it always does but it has been wonderful of course.
