With Summer slowly coming to an end I am always a little bummed. I live for Summer. As a kid, as a teenager, and still as an adult. I will say I do love Fall though...although we don't notice too much out here in SoCal. It will be a little crisper at night and we will break out some cute boots and leggings for night time. Last September and October were gorgeous out here. I can only hope for the same this year.
Last weekend proved to be such a blast! A weekend of baseball, beer, and great music and friends. A little dog park action in there as well and it was another perfect weekend for the books!
This week I started camp. Monday was a day at the beach with some great kiddos this week and a handful of wonderful high school volunteers. Monday night however, not so great. It was a nice night and I decided I would take Rox to the dog park/beach. We were strolling along with our toes in the water (per usual) and she was behind me stealing another dog's toy (per usual) when all of a sudden she came barreling into me at full speed, hit the back of my thighs and knocked me clear on my ass! Myself and my purse were tossed in the water. It. Freakin. Hurt. She has never done that before as she usually pays attention to where she is going. When I got up I noticed my ankle was killing me. Not broken but definitely not feeling normal. I managed to walk the rest of our usual loop around the park and when I got home I still felt a little sore but figured it would be fine. Well...when I woke up this morning it was waaaay worse. My ankle was noticeably swollen and it looked like a tennis ball. For someone who is never injured or accident prone...this is annoying! So I have been icing it and taking Advil to help with the swelling. I have promised several people if it's not better by Thursday I will head to the doctor...I guess it does look pretty bad. I was bummed too because today we took the kids rock climbing and I so wanted to try out the walls since I have never been before :( The kids had a blast though and I was still able to assist them so that was fun.
Tomorrow we are off to the aquarium, Thursday is the arcade/rides, and Friday back at the beach.
Looking forward to Saturday and Jake's Bon Voyage Party! Golf for the boys, boating, bonfire, and bars. Sounds like the quintessential San Diego Saturday to me :)
