Cousin Adventures!!

My cousin Jess got here late Thursday night. I snatched her from the airport and we chatted a bit before crashing for the night to get ready for our first full day of exploring on Friday!

Friday we headed to Fiesta Island to show her the great dog park/beach that Roxie and I venture to most days. Then we went out and about in Pacific Beach and ate a great lunch outside at a cute cafe called Zanzibar. We roamed around the boardwalk, pier, and checked out the Pacific Ocean. Headed back to get ready for the Padres vs. LA Dodgers game. Before the game we had some munchies at one of my favorite pre game spots...Proper Pub. It has an awesome rooftop deck that overlooks the stadium. The game was great...a cool night and even though the Padres lost there was a great fireworks show afterwards to celebrate the end of Summer! Awesome little bonus!

Saturday we got up early, put on our red and black and headed to the bars to cheer on our Georgia Bulldawgs. We met up with the local Alumni group and it was fun to watch with about 20 fellow DAWGS. We beat Ole Miss so of course that is always nice :) Afterwards we enjoyed another great lunch outside on an adorable patio at Cafe 976, came home and grabbed Rox and headed to Kate Sessions Park, then off to Coronado for a little beach time! Ended the night with a sunset at Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and then a Cali staple of In and Out Burger accompanied with the hilarious movie Bridesmaids.

Sunday we headed out on the bikes to ride around the bay. It is always fun to hop on the beach cruisers and ride around the neighborhood and all the bike paths. Jess hadn't been on a bike in almost a decade but she did great! Then to another lunch...you guessed it...on an awesome outdoor patio, then off to the zoo, Balboa Park, a stop in Ocean Beach for a famous waffle ice cream sandwich, and home to cook some enchiladas and homemade guacamole!

We are having a great time just hanging out, visiting, eating, and just enjoying some chill time while also seeing San Diego. So wonderful to have family here :) Tomorrow is La Jolla, Kayaking, and who knows what else!?!? As with most visitors...her time here and trip is going by waaaaay to fast!
