Make sure to end it good.
I got a speeding ticket today. I swear I am cursed in Cali...so far I have had a fender bender (not my fault), got a ticket for turning on red (my fault...but I totally paused) and now a speeding ticket. It was a gorgeous morning. I had Rox in the car, the windows down, the music blaring, and was taking my favorite street along the bay by my house...on the way to the dog park of course....when...I got pulled over. Stupid speed trap. I was "caught" going 44 in a 30 zone. In Cali that is going to be a hefty, hefty ticket. The cop was nice..even complimenting how great my car looked for a 2005 and how cute Roxie was...now in the South that would have gotten me a warning or at least reduced the ticket a little. Well in SoCal...it gets you nada. Boo.
So that put me in a foul mood. However, since the sun was shining and it is Thanksgiving Break the pity party did not last long...2 hours at the beach with the pup, 2 more spent at my favorite park catching up on all the latest gossip magazines, and a sunset stroll with Jake and Roxie's best bud Carmelle...yup...the ticket is annoying but I am simply too fortunate to let that crap ruin my day. And you know...the windows down and a good song on the radio almost justify a little lead foot...sorry for being happy officer. Can't say I won't let it happen again :) Just maybe next time there won't be a speed trap!
