Officially on Thanksgiving Break so I feel like I can somewhat get in the holiday spirit finally...although I refuse to listen to any Christmas music until at least after this Thursday's turkey has been cooked and eaten :) It is my 2nd Thanksgiving spent away from my family (who will be in Charlotte) and my 2nd SoCal Turkey Day. Last year I spent it with my Stepdad' s family who live out here but this year I will help host a "Friends Thanksgiving." I have to admit...I am quite excited about this. Our plans aren't firm yet but there will be anywhere from 6-12 of us getting together for good food, good company, great wine/beer, and I am sure some football in there as well (mainly for the men). I actually have a friend who knows how to cook a Turkey so the hard part is covered...just filling in side dishes and desserts and decided when and where to eat. I was hoping for a lovely late lunch outside in the courtyard but as of now...it looks like it will be a rainy SoCal Thanksgiving...boo :(
Over break I have plans for a mani/pedi, a few books I want to read, a massage scheduled for Tuesday, drinks at an awesome place I have been wanting to try for the past 15 months in La Jolla with panoramic Pacific Ocean views, lots of football, my first ever Chargers game, and of course time spent outside at the beach/park with Rox. It is going to be a wonderful break I am sure.
Of course Jake is in town visiting so that is always nice. 1 month from today and I will be heading home to visit friends and family for Christmas. So excited as we already have firm NYE plans (amazing), several get togethers planned, and just time to see the wonderful people in my life back home...Southern goodness at its finest.
Here is to a great Thanksgiving Break and for being ever so thankful that I get to live a happy, healthy, fun, and fulfilled life each and everyday. Cheers!
