My mom and brother headed back to Atlanta today :( It was so wonderful to spend 2 weeks with my mom and a few days with my brother. If you have been following you know my mom and I had a great trip out here...uneventful for the most part and enjoyed seeing parts of the U.S. I would be a liar if I said we didn't get on each others nerves, or if I wasn't rude or annoyed at times...but all in all...it was fabulous. I couldn't imagine doing the drive with anyone else. My mom is the most patient and positive person I have ever met. She helped me out so much and I will be forever indebted to her :) I look back at this as such a wonderful experience filled with great memories and pictures to look back on years from now! We both got a little teary eyed this morning at the airport but I am positive she will get back to work and be so busy that hopefully she doesn't get too sad. Christmas will come sooner than she thinks and if I really get home sick...I just might see if she will fly out for a long weekend before then.
After that I came home and just vegged on the couch. I felt a little guilty for not being outside but realized this is now where I live so I have many, many more days ahead to get out and about. It was nice to catch up on t.v. and just relax. I think Roxie enjoyed the break as well.
Later in the afternoon Jake and I hung out. Grabbed some awesome fish tacos in Ocean Beach and then just relaxed at my apartment. It is so nice having such a long time friend around...makes it feel like home instantly. He will be traveling for the next month so I won't see him much but knowing he will be around in the long run is comforting.
Tomorrow is bound to be a productive day of shopping, manicure/pedicure, and getting the room finished up hopefully.
Probably won't be blogging as frequently now that I have arrived....but as always will keep you posted on any happenings and adventures (or lack there of) in SoCal.
Remember its only a 4.5 hour plane ride to paradise and anyone is welcome :)
