Day 7: Phoenix, AZ

Well, we arrived in Phoenix after a looooooong drive from Santa Fe. It was a GORGEOUS drive though!! We even saw the car thermometer get down to 53 degrees!! Needless to say...it was much welcomed after the Texas heat we had a few days ago. However, we pulled into Phoenix and it is hot of course. On our way we took a side tour to the "Painted Desert" I posted some pics. It was so stunning! I also posted a pic of Roxie...this is typical her...goofy, grinning, and wanting out of the car :) I can't say I blame her.

I feel like my mom and I have been very fortunate this trip as we have been on the road a week and have had NO car trouble, no issues, no problems....nada....and then...today. We are about an hour or so from Phoenix...cruising along. My mom was driving, Rox and I just taking in the scenery and this dumbass guy in a sedan from Indiana starts coming over into our lane. Remember...out West in areas the speed limit is 75...which means people are driving around 90mph. I started freaking out and screaming...my mom slams on the breaks, Rox goes flying to the front of the car and pushes it into neutral. All the while...this dumbass didn't even react or jerk back over to his lane. I was so freaked out as I could just see us running off the road and getting not only side swiped but rear ended at 90mph. THIS GUY FREAKIN SUCKED!!!!!!!! I had so many f-bombs flying in the car! I wanted to shoot him the bird (and if traveling alone...of course I would have) but my mom freaked out and said I couldn't...so instead...when we got next to him again I gave him my worst eat shit look and without my mom seeing I mouthed a few choice words. My advice: If you can't drive...get off the road. Still pisses me off. I just don't get idiot drivers.

So we are all checked in and exhausted. We ordered pizza for the 2nd time :) and will have a nice, relaxing evening watching a movie or two. My mom's 53rd Birthday is tomorrow so we will do it right with a nice dinner in San Diego.

So excited to see my apartment in person, unload the car, meet my landlord and new roomie and just start to get settled in my new home! The trip has been amazing and now it is time to set up my new room and enjoy the SoCal life I have been looking forward to since Fall.

Update tomorrow from sunny San Diego!!
