Old Blue Chair

This weekend was a BLAST! Friday night was spent meeting up with Jake and some of his buddies at a dive bar...ironically called...The High Dive. Def. my type of place! It was nice to get to a new place and out of the normal neighborhood.

Saturday started off with a gorgeous SoCal day....as temps even reached into the 80's...haha...such a "heat wave"...right? Well by San Diego standards...it def. was. It is so nice to still have a tan in late September!! After the beach my roommate and I headed to a local beach bar to indulge in some college football...we had a great spot on an outdoor patio...and it was amazing! We saw a lot of college ball as well as watched UGA lose a terrible game..ahhh...to be 1-3 and 0-3 in the SEC is brutal...I really don't remember what it is like to have a "losing" team. But watching college football is still fun. Jake and a friend ended up meeting us there and it is always nice to sit outside and enjoy humidity free weather!

Sunday was another picture perfect day! Jake, my roommate, and I headed to the Padres vs. Reds game...awesome! I will find any excuse to be outside on a gorgeous day. Great company and baseball...makes me a happy girl. We also headed over to the rooftop bar of the Marriott Hotel for a great view and of course...more good times.

Lastly, I headed out to Coronado for dinner with my best friend's cousins . They live out here and are such great people! I have known my best friend since 6th grade so being around her extended family was very nice and so familiar...I will be housesitting and babysitting for them several times this month so it was great to familiarize myself with their house and kids. I of course took something to share...I made my easy "go to" dessert of "Death By Chocolate" It is so easy..see below:

1 box of brownies prepared according to directions and cooled completely
1 large container of instant chocolate pudding
1 container of cool whip
1 bag of Heath bar candy bits (sometimes hard to find but usually stored near chocolate chips etc.)

Layer in a trifle dish or large glass bowl...

brownies (broken into small pieces)
a generous layer of pudding
generous layer of whip cream
generous layer of Heath bits
Repeat layers once more
Chill in fridge until ready to serve and of course...ENJOY!

I have almost been out here 2 months and I will have to say...I never see myself going back to Ga...but..don't quote me on that...home will always be home and there is something to be said about family and comfort. However, I challenge anyone to visit SoCal and especially SD and argue there are many places better than this to live....I'd be impressed if you came up with one.

Picture paradise in America and you have San Diego....I don't exaggerate and I don't embellish...it truly is...that amazing!!!
