28....Feels Great!

What a wonderful, wonderful 28th Birthday! Getting older is something that happens...you can't change it so why not just embrace it, right? I woke up bright and early this morning because I am truly incapable of sleeping in. I didn't mind too much though...the sun was shining and I decided to take Rox to the beach. It was so nice to get some early morning fresh air and the dog park/beach was basically our own. So peaceful. I then headed to pick up my friend Alicia and we headed to the Torrey Pines Gliderport for me to Paraglide. It def. took some patience as the wind conditions have to be "just so" in order for a successful flight. So we waited...and waited. But I will say...there are worse places to spend a sunny afternoon. We sat on a grassy cliff over looking one of the prettiest coast lines in the U.S. for sure. I finally got my chance to go and it was awesome! Not nearly as scary as I imagined it would be and my pilot was so sweet, funny, and amazing! The flight took an interesting twist when the winds ran out and we had to make an unexpected landing on the beach. Mind you...one of the best beaches in SoCal. But...the hike up from the beach was intense. I am talking a 20 minute hike, uphill, and a solid work out. I was NOT prepared for that at all. Still....part of the adventure and so worth it. Because we didn't get our entire flight in...I got to go for a 2nd flight!!! The first flight took us about 300 ft in the air...the 2nd one about 600 feet!!!! Amazing. Breathtaking views of the coastline, mansions, Pacific Ocean...images I will not soon forget. Lucky for me I was able to take my camera on the 2nd trip and snap some awesome shots. A memorable 28th birthday for sure and well worth the wait!

I had to head to work of course but then went out for wine and dinner with some great girlfriends followed by a Haunted Trail/Maze. So fun to get in the Halloween/Fall spirit.

A shout out also to some of my amazing friends back home in Georgia. Definitely know how to make a girl feel loved and homesick. Flowers, videos, gifts, thoughtful cards etc. My heart truly busting at the seems today. I work so hard at my friendships and relationships in life and I am glad to know that I have such wonderful people in my life. 28 is not a birthday I will soon forget...one for the books for sure!

Cheers. To another year of living the good life...each and every single day.
